Problem Statement: Basically what we were faced with was a honeycomb shape with 19 empty slots. We had to then fill the slots with any number but in the end the line had to add up to 38 but you could only use the number once.
Process Description: Well first we started with looking at the problems by ourselves first, we each took our time to gather our thoughts about the problem. After that, we then shared with each other what we thought about the problem and maybe some guesses on where numbers could be placed. After that we got our free numbers from Carlee. Once we got those it made it a little more helpful to know where other numbers went. The numbers we were given were 5,13,19, and I think that is it. Once we received the numbers it made it helpful to move forward. I feel like we all equally contributed to the problem, and we also all worked very well as a group. Working together was very key and super helpful, also taking our time on each section also seemed to be helpful.
Solution: After working together for a while, we were able to solve the problem. That was a very rewarding moment, we were all super relived! It is very hard to explain our solution in words due to the numbers being scattered. Each of us working on a section and then coming together as a group seemed to be a very useful way of getting closer to our final solution. Trial and error seemed to be very helpful in the process of finding the final solution to this problem.
Self- Assessment & Reflection: I learned that working together as a group is key in order to solve a problem such as this. I feel that I deserve a 9. I feel I gave a significant amount of work towards this problem to solve this solution. I also worked very well with my group members in coming to a final decision. I also feel that I worked very hard on this problem to come to a final solution. Challenging myself as well as no complaining seemed to be very useful mathematical practices. I feel if I didn't challenge myself I would have not been able to give my part in solving this problem. Also not complaining is very useful because if I was complaining a lot that would get me no where. It would set me behind all my group members. I feel these are two very prevalent practices that I used in order to solve this problem.
