Oral History Interview: (01/09/14)
This was a month and a half project that consisted of interviews, recording, data collection, movie editing, facts checking, and displaying. The project began through biology, when we were studying our family and future health. This transferred into Humanities as an assignment to record an interview with a family member who has a potential disease you are at risk for.
For this project I decided to interview my dad about his grandmother. My great-grandma passed away in 2008. She was an amazing woman and this project definitely helped me learn a lot of things about her that I never knew before. This project was very rewarding to me overall. The following is my video.
Exhibition Reflection:
Our exhibition I believe was pretty amazing! Yes it was a lot of work and dedication. For me being on the exhibition management team was a lot of work and there were times when you got really stressed out but the most rewarding part was to have people come through our exhibition leaving changed and empowered. Also hearing from them like wow this is really amazing! It felt really amazing to have people enjoy all the hard work we put forth into this project and overall Exhibition. Overall when it comes to contributing to Exhibition I think our team worked together to contribute but if I had to choose one thing it would be all my art work and making sure everyone’s artwork was exhibition ready… Making sure everything was critiqued and ready to go for exhibition night sometimes got a little stressful because sometimes you would encounter some of your peers not wanting to do anything at all. Overall I think we did really good as a team to build this whole exhibition in a timely manner. I feel very proud of myself with all the work I achieved for this project and exhibition and also just making sure that from the beginning that all my work was beautiful for exhibition night. I think that helped me in the end and was a very good strategy. Lessons I have learned from this would definitely be communication. Communication is KEY especially when it comes to something like this. Because there were times when I would forget and then someone would get mad at me for not telling them earlier. If I had to take away one lesson from it all it would definitely be communication. Overall I really enjoyed this exhibition and in the end it was very rewarding when we had parents, teachers, and even doctors come through saying wow this is great! And actually leaving our exhibition with helpful information. This has been by far my favorite exhibition.
